Post-June 24 Opening Predicted for Pool

The Hellertown Pool's opening has been delayed by the installation of a new pool liner.

The Hellertown Pool isn't likely to open for the season until "some date after June 24," borough manager Cathy Kichline announced in a press release Friday.

The pool was originally scheduled to open Saturday, June 15, but delays in the installation of a new liner and anchorage system mean it will not open on time.

So far, patch work to restore the pool's surface to its original condition and prep work—including liner underlayment—have been completed, the press release said.

A new roof has also been installed on the pool's bathhouse.

Pool users are being advised to check the borough’s website and Facebook page for future updates on the opening date.

The Dip-N-Dance that was scheduled for June 27 has been canceled, however several other Dip-N-Dance parties at the pool are still scheduled to be held.

Those dates are listed on the Hellertown borough website calendar.

Season pool passes can be purchased at Hellertown Borough Hall.
