Meadows Road Reopening to Traffic

Lower Saucon Township has announced that a section of Meadows Road that has been closed for a stream bank stabilization project will reopen by 3 p.m. Thursday.

Lower Saucon Township announced early Thursday afternoon that a section of Meadows Road that has been closed for an emergency stream bank stabilization project will reopen by 3 p.m.

The section of the low-lying road that has been closed parallels the Saucon Creek between Rt. 412 (Leithsville Road) and the historic Meadows Road Bridge.

Meadows Road traffic to and from Rt. 412 has been detoured via Walnut Street/Skibo Road during the closure, which began Sept. 23.

Officials said last month that the closure was expected to last about two weeks, and that the emergency work was needed because of stream bank erosion caused by recent storms.

The work was performed by the Lower Saucon Township Public Works Department.
