L. Saucon Author to Discuss New 'Legendary Locals' Book

Author, award-winning columnist and Lower Saucon resident Karen M. Samuels will discuss her latest local history book, "Legendary Locals of Bethlehem," at the next meeting of the Lower Saucon Township Historical Society.

Author, award-winning columnist and Lower Saucon resident Karen M. Samuels will discuss her latest local history book, "Legendary Locals of Bethlehem," at the next meeting of the Lower Saucon Township Historical Society on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. at Seidersville Hall, 3700 Old Philadelphia Pike, Bethlehem. 

According to a news release, Samuels will present the stories of lesser-known Bethlehem legends such as Arthur and Edith Aykroyd, founders of Aykroyd Hardware; Lucy Walter, a nurse for 60 years in Bethlehem; Allen Woodring, the only Olympic gold metal winner from Bethlehem; and Gustav Adolph Conradi, whose photographs documented Bethlehem history in the early 1900s.

The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
