Fun Day Trip: Ringing Rocks

If you've never been, take the time to visit Ringing Rocks County Park in Upper Black Eddy, Bucks County. You'll be amazed by what you find.

Many of the large boulders at Ringing Rocks will resonate if struck with a hammer or other metal object. The tones created have unique qualities, with some actually sounding "gong-like." For this reason, Ringing Rocks is a great place for kids to explore.

If you visit, bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a walk downhill along the stream, or simply hang out on the rocks and soak up some rays while manufacturing your own sound experiments.
