Frost Advisory in Effect Tonight

The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for Northampton County from 2am to 8am Friday.

If you have plants and flowers in your yard that won't survive a frost, you may want to bring them inside this afternoon.

That's because the National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for Northampton County for Friday from 2am to 8am.

Temperatures are expected to drop into the mid 30s with patchy frost developing after 2am across parts of the Lehigh Valley, the Poconos and northwestern New Jersey.

"Sensitive flowering plants and vegetables should be brought inside or covered to protect them from the frost," the weather service said in its statement.

The cold snap should be short-lived, however.

Friday's high temperature is expected to be 70 degrees and the temperature is forecast to reach the upper 70s on Saturday and Sunday, with dry, sunny weather predicted for both days.
