Friday is Deadline to Sign Up for Spirit Parade

It's not too late to register to march in the Saucon Valley Spirit Parade--formerly the Saucon Valley Halloweeen Parade. The parade will be held Sunday, Oct. 21 at 2pm in downtown Hellertown.

Note: The following letter is from Saucon Valley Spirit Parade chairman Dave Heintzelman.

Participate at this year’s Spirit Parade and enjoy community spirit! Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. is coming quicker than you think!

The Saucon Valley Spirit Parade deadline for participation is Oct. 12, 2012 at 5 p.m. If you do not fill out the application provided at Hellertown Borough Hall or Lower Saucon Town Hall or secure one by calling 610-838-0521, you cannot participate in this year’s parade. If you preregistered you will receive a card via the mail designating what division you're in by Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012. If for some reason you do not receive our postcard, please contact us immediately.

For safety reasons, we are asking all volunteers to be present at the Saucon Valley High School Administration parking plot by 12 noon (prompt). From 12:30 to 1:50 p.m. participants may register and announce that their organization is ready for placement in the staging area. Your organization leader is to proceed to register your group at the administration parking lot when all participants are present. If you do not register your group, you will forfeit any prize winnings.

Remember, this parade continues to grow. Volunteers are only following the rules deemed necessary for the safety of all. Please thank the volunteers for their help. We could not have a parade without their participation.

Again, as in years past, there will be volunteers collecting monies to offset costs needed to run a parade of this magnitude. Please be generous so the parade can continue to be an annual event.

Any questions can be emailed to david@heintzelmanfh.com, or call 610-838-0521.

Dave Heintzelman, Chairman
