Book Sale Proceeds to Benefit Special Olympics, Author Says

Local historian and author Lee Weidner says he will donate all proceeds from the sale of his new book, "Saucon Secrets, Volume 2," this Sunday to Bethlehem Special Olympics.

A local author has announced that sales of his latest book at the Saucon Valley Farmers' Market this Sunday will benefit Bethlehem Special Olympics.

Lee Weidner will be at the outdoor Hellertown market to sell copies of from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The illustrated, hardbound book—which retails for $40—features vignettes and short stories about life in Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township in bygone days.

"Any book that is sold between 9 and 1...the $40—100 percent—goes to Bethlehem Special Olympics," Weidner said, adding that he is also donating proceeds from book sales to benefit both the Hellertown Area Library and the borough's Edward H. Ackerman Post 397 of the American Legion.

Weidner will be selling "Saucon Secrets, Vol. 2" at the Bethlehem Special Olympics tent.

The market, which is held in Water Street Park, is open each Sunday from May through November.
