April Fool's! Loads of Snow a No Go for the Lehigh Valley

In spite of earlier dire predictions, the snowstorm appears to be a bust.

With temperatures above freezing, the moderate to heavy snow predicted by the National Weather Service over the past couple days is in hindsight looking like little more than an April Fool's Day joke.

According to a special weather statement issued by the service at 7:44am, "accumulations upwards of an inch can be expected on the grassy surfaces" while a "slushy mess" is still possible on roads.

The statement urged motorists to exercise caution and allow extra breaking distance if traveling this morning.
