More About Hellertown Area Library
The Hellertown Area Library was founded in 1989 by residents who believed that a borough library would be a wonderful educational and civic resource. In the fall of 1989, this grassroots group started a "good books collection," which quickly evolved into the library organization.
The library was first located at 528 Main St., before the current building on Constitution Ave. was constructed and dedicated in 1993. The library's collection has grown to include more than 33,000 books and materials, including DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, and various other items.
Borough residents over the age of five may obtain a Hellertown Area Library card with proper identification, and the library's materials are available to non-borough residents if they have an ACCESS (Pa. state) library membership.
