A “Meet the Artists’ Reception” featuring the paintings of the Plein Air Group of the Bethlehem Palette Club will be hosted by the Saucon Valley Conservancy at the Heller Homestead on Monday, March 4, 2013, 7 to 9pm [Snow date: Tuesday, March 5]. The exhibit runs Saturday, March 4 through Sunday, April 21, 2013. The event is free and open to the public.  The Plein Air Group of the Bethlehem Palette Club are local artists that paint scenes of the Lehigh Valley in the open air. They gather at various town and country locations on Wednesday mornings during the Spring, Summer and Fall to paint from life.

Author and local historian Lee Weidner will be present during the reception to sign copies of his latest book “Saucon Secrets, Volume II,” which will be available for purchase. His books include "Images of America: Hellertown" and "Saucon Secrets, Volume I." A retired teacher, Weidner continues to make his home in his native Hellertown.

The Heller Homestead Art Gallery and the Antiques and Collectibles Gift (Consignment) Shop are free and open to the public on most weekends and during special events from March 2 to Dec. 15, 2013. We are closed most holiday weekends. Saturday and Sundays hours: 1 to 4pm (Sundays, 12 to 3pm, May - November). Proceeds benefit the Saucon Valley Conservancy, Inc. Due to an unexpected circumstance, the Art Gallery and Gift Shop may be closed. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Tours of the Heller Homestead Museum “A Journey through
Time” are available by appointment (donations greatly appreciated).

Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the Michael Heller Homestead is nestled along the western banks of the beautiful Saucon Creek at 1890 - 92 Friedensville Road (Water Street), in Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. It is approximately one half mile west of Route 412 and Water Street in Hellertown just off the Saucon Rail Trail. Turn west on Water Street, which becomes Friedensville Road in Lower Saucon Township. Go across the Water Street Bridge. The Heller Homestead is on the left, adjacent to the Saucon Creek and opposite Creek Road. Parking is available on site and at the nearby Water Street Park.

The Heller Homestead is a historic site which was home to the Heller family and is presently under the stewardship of the Saucon Valley Conservancy, which is headquartered there. The Saucon Valley Conservancy a not-for-profit organization dedicated to preserving the historical and natural environment in the area. The homestead features period-furnished rooms and houses an art gallery featuring rotating exhibits by local artists, as well as a gift shop that accepts consignments and donations. In 2010, the homestead was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
