  Homestead. The proceeds benefit the Saucon Valley Conservancy\, an all 
 volunteer not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 corporation\, whose mission is to pre
 serve the historic and natural environment of the Saucon Valley as an ed
 ucational and recreational resource for area citizens and visitors. The 
 Homestead is part of Heller Homestead Park owned by Lower Saucon Townshi
 p and leased by the Saucon Valley Conservancy.\nDirections: The Heller H
 omestead is located just off the popular Saucon Rail Trail at 1890 - 92 
 Friedensville Road\, (Water Street)\, in Lower Saucon Township\, Northam
 pton County\, Pennsylvania. It is approximately one half mile west of Ro
 ute 412 and Water Street in Hellertown.&nbsp\; Turn west on Water Street
 \, which becomes Friedensville Road in Lower Saucon Township. Go across 
 the Water Street Bridge.&nbsp\; The Heller Homestead is on the left adja
 cent to the Saucon Creek and opposite Creek Road.&nbsp\; Parking is avai
 lable on site and at the nearby Water Street Park.\nFounded January 7\, 
 1993\, the Saucon Valley Conservancy\, Inc. is dedicated to work in part
 nership with governmentbodies\, community organizations\, business group
 s and concerned citizens. The mission of the Saucon Valley Conservancy i
 s to preserve the historic and natural environment of the Saucon Valley 
 as an educational and recreational resource for area citizens and visito
 rs. The major stewardship of the Conservancy is the Michael Heller Homes
 tead and the Saucon Creek corridor.\nThe 2.2 acre Heller Homestead (Mich
 ael &amp\; Margaret Heller House) is listed on the National Register of 
 Historic Places and is locally significant under National Register Crite
 rion Cfor architecture. The Period of Significance is c. 1751 to 1935\, 
 when the earlier Colonial and Federal style farmhouse was renovated to r
 eflect the popular Colonial Revival style. The architecture of the House
  demonstrates the distinctive design characteristics of the class of pre
 -existing farmhouses in the Saucon Valley that were remodeled using Colo
 nial Revival designs in the early 20th century.&nbsp\; These changes occ
 urred during a time in which property owners\, architects\, and builders
  were influenced by both historic antecedents and the availability of ca
 talog designs and woodwork. It is part of the 15-acre Heller Homestead P
 ark owned by Lower Saucon Township and leased by Saucon Valley Conservan
 cy.
