About this column:

As long as she can remember, Lisa Wright has loved homes. Big ones, small ones, old ones or new ones, it didn’t matter. Home is where you hang out, watch your kids grow up, gather with your family and friends and make great memories. Over the years, Lisa has watched the area grow and change. She has helped people buy and sell homes, and then helped their kids buy their first home. (That made her feel good, but old!) She has lived through great markets and not-so-great markets and learned that no matter what, people still want to buy and invest in homes. At the end of the day, she can’t think of a better career to have. Lisa currently works for Prudential, Patt White Real Estate in their Bethlehem office. She lives in Lower Saucon Township with her husband Mark, their son Tyler, who is currently a high school junior, and their crazy dog Abi. Her family has lived in the Saucon Valley for almost 7 years and Lisa has been a Lehigh Valley resident since 1988. She and her husband are active members of the Saucon Valley Foundation for Educational Innovation, with Lisa serving as PR/Marketing Chair. She loves what SVFEI has been able to accomplish for Saucon Valley students, thanks to the generous support of its donors. Lisa believes that home is more than just a house. It’s the community you live in, and she couldn’t be more proud to be a Saucon Valley resident! www.pattwhite.com/lisawright www.svfoundation.net

As a homeowner, you will be able to realize many benefits, including the long-term financial gains that come from owning a home and the tax benefits. Let’s not forget the warm and fuzzy side as well. Your home will be a place to create memories, a place you can paint or fix, create a garden, raise your kids and have a pet or two. Not that long ago I helped a really great …
With the greening of the grass and the hopefully warmer days, we are seeing the real estate market both nationally and locally continuing to warm as well. According to the National Association of Realtors, sales in March were up over February by 3.7 percent. This trend is expected to continue and is great news for an industry that affects the overall health of our economy. According to the Lehigh Valley Association of Realtors (LVAR), March sales in the Lehigh Valley were up 54 percent over February. This is a phenomenal increase and is a great start to what we all hope will be a great spring…
When people talk about real estate, they talk in singular terms. “How is the real estate market?” they will often ask. Since there are many facets to the market, it is very difficult to offer one answer that covers everything. We have a pulse on the national picture, the local picture and even the micro-market. All the markets affect the value of your home, what it’s worth now and what it may be worth in the future. If you are considering selling now, but weren’t sure, this information is for you. If you are thinking about buying, pay even closer attention, because there really has never been…
