Farmers' Market Has More Than 40 Vendors This Year

From May through November, the Saucon Valley Farmers' Market is open Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Hellertown's Water Street Park, just off the Saucon Rail Trail.

Did you know that the Saucon Valley Farmers' Market is now one of the biggest farmers' market in the Lehigh Valley? The popular market—which is open each Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (May through November) in Hellertown's Water Street Park —has grown in size to include more than 40 vendors this year, including a number of new vendors. Sagra, Yianni's to Be Part of L.V. Food & Wine Festival

Hellertown's Sagra Bistro and Lower Saucon's Yianni's Taverna will be two of the participating restaurants in the 2013 Lehigh Valley Food & Wine Festival's 'Grand Tasting,' which will be held May 31 to June 2 in Bethlehem.

Two well-known Saucon Valley restaurants will be part of this year's Lehigh Valley Food & Wine Festival, which will be held at the Sands Bethlehem Event Center, which runs from Friday, May 31 to Sunday, June 2.  Sagra Bistro of Hellertown and Yianni's Taverna of Lower Saucon Township will join more than two dozen other Lehigh Valley restaurants for the event's "Grand Tasting," which benefits the Northampton Community College Foundation. The Grand Tasting—which will also feature 47 wines—will run from noon to 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. Live music will be provided by the Billy Bauer Band, and each attendee will receive a souvenir wine glass. 200 Properties Up for Sheriff Sale Friday

Northampton County's monthly sheriff sale will be held Friday.

Northampton County's next sheriff sale is set for Friday, May 10. There are at least 200 properties that will go on the block. This monthly public auction will begin at 10 a.m. in county council chambers at the Northampton County Courthouse, 669 Washington St., Easton. Call (610) 559-3000 for details. Rules for the sale include: The last sale, held on April 5, included 190 properties.

New Rodizio Grill Brazilian Steakhouse Opens

The new Rodizio Grill Brazilian Steakhouse in Allentown features a gourmet salad bar and slow-grilled meats carved table side by 'gauchos.'

The owners of The Melting Pot fondue restaurant in Bethlehem have added another unique dining experience to the Lehigh Valley restaurant scene with the opening of Rodizio Grill Brazilian Steakhouse at 2805 Lehigh Street in Allentown. Rodizio is located next to The Tilted Kilt at the site of what used to be a Bob Evans restaurant just off I-78. Rodizio features a gourmet salad bar and rotisserie grilled meats—including beef, pork, poultry and lamb—that are seasoned and slow roasted. After you visit the salad bar, return to your table where friendly "gauchos" bring steak and other roasted meat to you on a long skewer and carve it tableside. Warm Sugar, a Main Street cupcake bakery, is looking to relocate to an area with more foot traffic, according to a recent post on its Facebook page.

Just two years after opening on Hellertown's Main Street, cupcake bakery Warm Sugar is looking to move. According to a recent post on the business's Facebook page, Warm Sugar's goal is "to relocate to an area with more foot traffic," such as South Bethlehem or Easton. "Ideally, we’d like to share space with an existing business of some kind," the posting said. "We have a beautifully fitted out commercial kitchen with brand-new equipment, café furniture and retail display that we can relocate if the right opportunity presents itself. Or, we can utilize existing equipment and infrastructure if that makes more sense." Dorney Park in South Whitehall will be open on weekends only until May 25, when Wildwater Kingdom also opens. This weekend's hours are as follows: Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. 2. Lehigh Valley residents get a discount on admission this weekend. As a season pass holder we go as soon as they open, head to the water park and stay for a few hours and then go home and have lunch at home. It works out well for us because we only live 15, or so mins, away. I can't take the crowds !!! Going after 5 is good too especially during the week.
