Retiring host and soon-to-be host of NBC late night television shows both scheduled to appear at Bethlehem Event Center this summer.
“Tonight Show” host Jay Leno will make his second trip to the Sands Bethlehem Event Center on Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. Sticking with the comedy theme, Vision Entertainment on Monday also announced performances by "Saturday Night Live" cast member Seth Meyers and the cast of truTV’s “Impractical Jokers.” Leno, who has been “The Tonight Show” host for most of the past 20 years, has continued to perform stand-up comedy throughout his tenure as television host. Leno appeared for a nearly sold out at the Event Center in August 2012. In March, NBC announced that Leno would retire from “The Tonight Show” at the end of the 2014 Winter Olympics and be replaced by “Late Night” host Jimmy Fallon. 'Anything Goes' cast and crew members from Saucon Valley High School were nominated for Freddy Awards in four different categories Thursday. The awards will be given out later this month.
Saucon Valley High School students received four Freddy Award nominations Thursday for their spring production of the musical "Anything Goes." Nominations were received in the following categories: Outstanding Achievement in Lighting Outstanding Use of Scenery Outstanding Featured Performance by an Actor - Davis Weaver as Lord Evelyn Oakleigh Outstanding Production Number - "Blow, Gabriel, Blow" The Freddy Awards are given annually to local high school students for outstanding achievements in dramatic productions. The 6th annual Student Artistry Exhibit featuring works by Saucon Valley middle and high school students will open April 27 at the Heller Homestead in Lower Saucon Township.
Works by Saucon Valley high school and middle school students will be displayed in a local gallery beginning later this month. The Saucon Valley Conservancy has announced that the 6th annual Student Artistry Exhibit at the Heller Homestead will open with a public reception on Saturday, April 27. The exhibit is coordinated with the Saucon Valley School District and is under the direction of the district's related arts teachers. The homestead, which is located at 1890-92 Friedensville Road in Lower Saucon Township, will also host other special events that day in conjunction with Saucon Valley History Day. Actor, author, comedian and musician and Steve Martin returns to the State Theatre later this month to perform with The Steep Canyon Rangers in an evening of Bluegrass and Banjo, Sunday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. The show was originally scheduled for November 2012, but was postponed due to Hurricane Sandy.
