Wintry Mix Possible Early Friday

A mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain could fall in advance of the Friday morning rush hour.

UPDATE: As of 3pm Wednesday, the National Weather Service had issued a Winter Storm Watch for Northampton County, effective from Friday afternoon through Saturday morning. According to the watch statement, after a wintry mix develops earlier Friday there will be the potential for heavy snow and gusty winds across parts of eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Five to 10 inches of snow are possible, according to the NWS, with the highest amounts across the Poconos and northwestern New Jersey.

Another winter storm is on the way, and it could make for messy travel Friday morning.

Snow is expected to start falling in the Saucon Valley after 3am on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

Snow will be followed by a mix of sleet, freezing rain and rain, changing to all rain after 9am Friday.

The precipitation could change back to snow Friday night.

Then the storm will clear out leaving sunny skies and a high of 33 degrees on Saturday.

WFMZ also says we can expect a wintry mix Thursday night and Friday, with some snow accumulation possible.
