While Drunk, Woman Drove 30 mph Over Speed Limit: Police

Lower Saucon Township Police say an Allentown woman was drunk when she allegedly drove at 65 mph on Seidersville Road.

An Allentown woman has been charged with DUI, after Lower Saucon Township Police say she drove at speeds of up to 65 mph in a posted 35 mph zone while intoxicated.

In a news release, police said Emily L. Miller, of the 400 block of South 26th Street, was followed after she didn't stop at a stop sign at Seidersville Road and Old Philadelphia Pike April 15.

Police said Miller then sped up and reached speeds of 60 to 65 mph as she drove west on Seidersville Road, before she was stopped in the area of Gottwald Drive, which is across the county line in Salisbury Township.

According to police, Miller was arrested after she failed field sobriety tests.

She was determined to have a blood alcohol content of .17 percent, authorities added.
