Tell Us: Does Hellertown Have a 'Deer Problem?'
Oh deer! A Patch reader says deer roaming borough streets could hurt themselves or residents.
Have you ever seen a deer in Hellertown? If you have, did it concern you?
Patch reader Robin Hudak Kelchner says she has seen deer in town, and she shared her concerns in an Oct. 24 post on Hellertown Patch's Facebook page.
"(I) took my 7 month old son and boxer for a walk...and 4 deer were standing on Miller street, right off Easton Road. Last week my husband and I saw them on Third Avenue," Kelchner said. "Quite a shock when you're out on a stroll and you come upon them here in town."
"(I) hope for the safety of the deer and residents that no one gets hurt!" she added.
Do you think deer in the borough are a public safety issue? If so, what do you think should be done to keep them outside of town?
