In an earlier recorded message relayed to the parents this afternoon, Saucon Valley School District Superintendent Sandra Fellin said the district did not believe the note was 'viable in any manner.'

6:50PM UPDATE: In a recorded phone message relayed to parents at 6:30pm this evening, Superintendent Sandra Fellin said "we have identified the student who had written the note in the middle school boys bathroom. As in the previous message, I thank you for your cooperation in these matters. Have a good evening. See you all tomorrow."

In a recorded phone message relayed to parents this afternoon, Saucon Valley School District Superintendent Sandra Fellin said another note referencing the words "gun" and "Thursday" has been found in a district building.

"This time the note was in the middle school boys' bathroom," Fellin said. "The district has no reason to believe whatsoever that this note is viable in any manner."

Fellin said school will be held as scheduled Thursday, and added that students are expected to be in attendance.

She went on to call media reports about the last incident overblown, stating that "at times the media will take the information provided and make it into a serious threat...when there was really not one. If something of a serious nature--any credible nature--would occur, I assure you, you will be informed, and it will be much more than a note on the web or a friendly phone call."

Fellin urged parents to talk to their children about the gravity of posting threatening messages in schools, and said that "legal action will be taken" against those responsible for the recent notes, if they are caught.

"The Saucon Valley School District has a long established practice of sharing information about incidents that may need police intervention or police presence," Fellin said. "The district tries to be proactive to make the community aware of such issues."

"Each message, note and action is a judgment call on my part as to how best to inform the public," she added. "I will continue to post (information on the web) and call on issues when appropriate."

As of 5:10pm, the district had not posted a statement about the most recent discovery of a note on its website.
