School Bus Driver Cited Following Accident

Lower Saucon Township Police say John A. Limpar, 52, of Lower Saucon, backed the school bus he was driving into another vehicle on Monday morning.

A Saucon Valley School District bus driver was cited for "Limitations on Backing" on Monday, Oct. 22, after he allegedly backed his school bus into another vehicle on Lower Saucon Road.

In a press release about the incident, Lower Saucon Township Police said the accident occurred before 9am between Martins Lane and Silver Creek Road.

That area is in a rural section of the township.

School bus driver John A. Limpar, 52, of Helms Road, Lower Saucon Township, "failed to observe another vehicle stopped directly behind him, (and) as a result struck the vehicle bumper/engine, causing the vehicle to have moderate damage," police said.

At the time of the accident there were approximately 32 Saucon Valley students on board the bus, but no injuries were reported, authorities added.

School district superintendent Dr. Sandra Fellin confirmed that "all students were fine" in an emailed response to a Patch inquiry following the accident.

I doubt they can see you in their mirror if you are just 10 feet behind them.
