Lower Saucon Township police say they decided to terminate the Aug. 8 pursuit of a motorcyclist into Williams Township because the operator was driving recklessly in poor road conditions.

Lower Saucon Township police say they voluntarily terminated the pursuit of a motorcyclist into Williams Township, after the operator continued to drive recklessly in poor road conditions.

The pursuit began at approximately 11:41pm on Aug. 8, after the operator was observed traveling approximately 80mph in a 40mph speed limit zone on Easton Road, police said.

The operator then proceeded to lead police on an eight minute, 4.6 mile pursuit onto Lower Saucon Road and Island Park Road in Williams Township, police said.

The roads were wet at the time, and police ultimately decided to call off the pursuit, an Aug. 9 police department press release said.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Police Department at 610-330-2200.
