Police: Man and Juvenile Rode Motorized Vehicles on Trail
Lower Saucon Township Police say a local man and a 17-year-old juvenile were cited for operating motorized vehicles on the Saucon Rail Trail Oct. 8.
A Lower Saucon Township man and a 17-year-old juvenile were cited for operating motorized vehicles on the Saucon Rail Trail Oct. 8, township police announced in a press release Tuesday.
Police said Kenneth Pietrzak, of the 2000 block of Susan Lane, and the juvenile were apprehended at 7:16pm.
The use of motorized vehicles is prohibited on the trail, and a Hellertown resident has recently spoken to council and borough police about violations that have reportedly occurred near the trail's north end.

i think they need to worry about other stuff then ppl riding on the trail,,then they wonder why kids get into trouble ,,they have nothing else to do

So Eddie, when should they worry about it ? When someone gets hit and injured ? Then people will complain nothing was done about the problem. People who use the trail say they or their dogs have almost been struck. A woman pushing a baby stroller felt endangered enough to speak up.
Citizens have voiced their concerns over safety and damage to the trail. It is the responsibility of the townships and borough councils and their respective police departments to address the issues of their taxpayers. Especially in the interest of safety.
As for the kids not having anything better to do; sorry but being bored is not an excuse for breaking the law and having no regard for anyone else. You break the rules and get caught, you suffer the consequences.
Good job to the police for catching some of these people. Hopefully it makes a difference.
