Police: Driver Struck Pedestrian Near Se-Wy-Co Fire Co.

Lower Saucon Township Police say Howard Tkacik, of Upper Saucon Township, struck a pedestrian at Kenny Headman Lane and Route 378 on Dec. 3.

 

An Upper Saucon Township motorist struck a pedestrian near Se-Wy-Co Volunteer Fire Company Dec. 3, Lower Saucon Township Police announced in a press release Monday.

Police said Howard Tkacik, of the 7400 block of Flint Forest Drive, was attempting to turn right from Kenny Headman Lane--the road next to the fire house--onto Route 378 when the accident occurred.

Authorities identified the pedestrian Tkacik allegedly struck as Frances Sefranek, of the 3500 block of McCloskey Avenue, Lower Saucon Township.

Police said Sefranek was walking northbound and was taken to a local hospital for treatment following the accident. However, they did not specify the extent of her injuries in the press release.

The accident occurred at about 3:27pm, according to the release.

Tkacik was cited under the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code for failure to yield to a pedestrian, police said.

There are no sidewalks in the area where the accident occurred.
