Man Admits to Attempting to Run Over Co-Worker

On April 9, William R. Ruth Jr., 54, of Fountain Hill, admitted to aggravated assault in a Lower Saucon Township case from last October.

In Northampton County Court Monday, a Fountain Hill mason admitted to twice at a work site on Apple Street in Lower Saucon Township, the Morning Call reported.

William R. Ruth Jr., 54, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in the incident, which began with him throwing mortar into the road, storming off and getting into his vehicle, the article stated.

Ruth then attempted to run down co-worker Ronald Gates twice, missing him by only a foot on the first attempt.

It is unclear what sparked Ruth's rage, according to the story.

Ruth will be sentenced by Judge Leonard Zito June 1, and could face up to 10 years in prison, the report said.
