Man Arrested for DUI on Route 378
On Sept. 30 at 2:58am police say Cody Michaels, of the 200 block of Brown Road, Middletown, N.Y., was stopped on Route 378 for a traffic violation. Michaels was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol, with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .10 percent, police said. He has been charged with DUI, authorities added.
Man Refused to Give Blood, Will Be Charged With DUI, Police Say
On Oct. 14 at 8:49pm police say Wilfred Morrison, of the 1600 block of Cambridge Court, Lower Saucon Township, was stopped for driving on the wrong side of the road at Bingen and Black River roads. Police said in a press release that Morrison was arrested for DUI but subsequently refused to give a blood sample and will consequently lose his driving privileges for one year. He will be charged with DUI, authorities added.
Property Owners Cited for High Weeds, Grass
Police announced in a press release Oct. 16 that Ronald Black, 48, and Tari Black, 55, of Ithaca, N.Y., were cited for allegedly violating the township ordinance that prohibits high weeds and grass on properties. Police said they were dispatched for "repeated complaints" about high weeds at a property the Blacks own at 1515 Bette Lane. Both will receive non-traffic citations in the mail, police said.
Man to Be Cited Following Traffic Accident at Friedensville, Creek Roads
On Oct. 19 at 10:53am police say they responded to an accident at Friedensville and Creek roads. In a press release, police said Keith Mowrey, of the 2400 block of Black River Road, Lower Saucon Township, was traveling too fast for conditions when he struck the rear of a vehicle operated by James G. Salisbury, also of Lower Saucon. Police said no injuries were reported and that both vehicles received minor damage. Mowrey will be cited for "Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed," they added.
Man Allegedly Fled and Eluded Police
On Oct. 19 police say Erik Christopher Ivarsson, 20, of the 2000 block of Fieldstone Drive, Lower Saucon Township, led officers on a chase that allegedly began on Saucon Valley Road and ended in Upper Saucon Township. Police said Ivarsson was taken into custody with assistance from Upper Saucon Township Police. According to police, Ivarsson was subsequently charged with felony fleeing and eluding as well as several traffic violations, arraigned before District Judge Patricia Romig-Passaro, and committed to Northampton County Prison.
Numerous Mailboxes Damaged in Township, Police Say
Shortly after midnight on Oct. 22 police say they found numerous damaged mailboxes along Polk Valley Road, Silver Creek Road, Reservoir Road, Mockingbird Hill Road and Lower Saucon Road. Police said in a press release that the mailboxes were damaged by unknown parties. In at least two cases, a blunt object was reportedly used to damage them. Anyone with information about the perpetrators is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Township Police Department at 610-759-2200.
