Police: Drunk Driver Nearly Lost Control at Friedensville/Meadows Road Bend
On Sept. 27 at 2:26am police say Bryan Craig, of the 200 block of Northampton Street, Hellertown, was observed speeding on Route 378 South. After Craig turned left onto Seidersville Road he allegedly continued to speed, and on Hickory Hill Road he began to swerve, according to a police department press release. When Craig reached the bend at Friedensville Road and the Meadows Road turn-off, police say he "nearly lost control" of his vehicle. He was stopped shortly thereafter and allegedly admitted to having just left a bar. Police said the odor of alcohol was detected during the traffic stop and that Craig failed field sobriety tests before being arrested for DUI. He was taken to the Bethlehem DUI Center for processing, they added.
Man Arrested for Driving Under Suspension
On Sept. 28 at 12:07am police say Lee Minnucci, 23, of the 6300 block of Red Fox Court, Upper Saucon Township, was stopped on Route 378 South. Police said in a press release that Minnucci was found to be driving under suspension. Police said charges against Minnucci have been filed.
Connecticut Man Arrested for DUI on Hickory Hill Road
On Sept. 30 at 1:32am police say James A. Murphy, of the first block of Baker Lane, East Haddam, Conn., was observed speeding and crossing the double yellow line in a black SUV on Hickory Hill Road. After he was stopped near Pleasant Drive police said Murphy failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. He was taken to the Bethlehem DUI Center for processing and was determined to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .11 percent, police said in a press release.
Woman Will Be Charged Following Accident at Hickory Hill Road and Pleasant Drive, Police Say
On Oct. 2 at 11:32am police say officers were dispatched to the area of Hickory Hill Road and Pleasant Drive for a report of a one-vehicle accident. Police said in a press release that Dai Na, of Duh Drive, Bethlehem, was operating a 2001 Volvo westbound on Hickory Hill when it left the roadway, crashed into a small fence and struck a tree with its driver's side. Police said Na sustained minor injuries to her left arm in the accident, and that her vehicle was towed from the scene by Saucon Collision. Na will be charged with "driving vehicle at safe speed," according to authorities.
Driver Charged Following Accident at Bingen, Saucon Valley Roads
On Oct. 2 at 4:15pm police say officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at Bingen and Saucon Valley roads. Police said in a press release that the accident occurred when R. Damian Sekonic attempted to turn right onto Saucon Valley Road from Bingen Road. "He was unable to keep his vehicle (in) the designated lanes of travel" and struck a vehicle operated by Jeffrey Millets, who was stopped at a stop sign, police said. Sekonic has been charged with driving too fast for conditions, according to authorities.
Man Allegedly Blew Red Light at Rt. 378 and Seidersville Road, Caused Accident
On Oct. 7 at 11:13am police say they responded to a two-vehicle accident at Route 378 and Seidersville Road. Police said in a press release that Frederick Zieger, 58, of Schwenksville, Pa., was southbound on Rt. 378 when he drove through a "steady red signal." At the same time, police said, Monica Pyzia, 55, of Hellertown, was entering the intersection from Seidersville Road. Police said Pyzia had a green light when she did so, and that both vehicles had to be towed as a result of the accident that occurred. Zieger was charged with violating traffic control signals, they said.
