Man Charged With DUI on Route 412
On Oct. 17 at 11:06pm police say Dale Mahoney, of the 5900 block of Hawk Road, Springfield Township, was stopped on Route 412 for speeding and erratic driving. Police said in a press release that Mahoney was found to be under the influence of marijuana. He was charged with DUI and careless driving, they added.
Police Investigating Attempted Burglary on Apple Street
On Nov. 2 police say a homeowner in the 2300 block of Apple Street reported an attempted burglary. Police said in a press release that the homeowner discovered a hole in his back door, along with broken glass. "A room in the house was rummaged through, but it is unknown if anything was taken," police said. The attempted burglary happened sometime between 4:40am Nov. 1 and 4:45pm Nov. 2. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Police Department at 610-317-6110.
Golf Cart Taken on Joy Ride at Country Club, Police Say
On Nov. 3 police say Saucon Valley Country Club reported that someone took a golf cart and drove it across the golf course there. "The driver then crashed it into a ditch and left it there, which destroyed the golf ball collection system that was affixed to it," police said in a press release. Anyone with information about the mischief is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Police Department.
Police: Motorist Struck Utility Pole, Left Accident Scene Without Contacting Authorities
On Nov. 3 at 11:12pm police say Eric T. Wilson, of the 100 block of Valley View Road, Williams Township, struck a utility pole at 2450 Wassergass Road and left the scene of the accident without contacting authorities. Police said in a press release that Wilson has been cited for careless driving and accidents involving damaged property.
Woman Charged Following Accident at Black River Road and Route 378
On Nov. 5. at 6:57pm police say officers were dispatched to a three-vehicle accident at Black River Road and Route 378. Police said in a press release that Amy Kate Millsap, 21, of the 200 block of Water Lily Court, Upper Macungie Township, caused a chain reaction-type accident when she rear-ended a vehicle that was ahead of her. A female driver involved in the accident complained of neck pain, but none of the drivers was sent to the hospital, according to police, who said Millsap has been charged with "Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed."
New Jersey Woman Arrested on Retail Theft Charge at Giant
On Nov. 7 at 6:02pm police say they were dispatched to the Giant supermarket, 1880 Leithsville Road, after receiving a report that someone was being held by the store's loss prevention staff for retail theft. Police said the loss prevention department told them that Lucia Congiusta, 50, of Union, N.J., had allegedly concealed "numerous items" in a shopping cart and attempted to leave the store without paying for them. When she did so, police said Congiusta was detained. She has been charged with Misdemeanor 1 retail theft, they added.
