Police: Man Had .25 Percent Blood Alcohol Content
On Dec. 1 at 11pm police say Harris Robert Brown, of the 1600 block of Finches Garden Road, Bethlehem, was stopped in the parking lot of Starters Pub on Route 378 after a witness reported that he was allegedly driving recklessly through the township. Police said Brown also failed to stop after he allegedly struck the mirror of another vehicle on Saucon Valley Road, and that the witness followed Brown until he was stopped by officers on Route 378. At that time, "Brown was not cooperative and refused to perform (field sobriety tests)," police said. According to authorities, a subsequent blood test at St. Luke's University Hospital revealed his blood alcohol content (BAC) to be .25 percent, which is more than three times the legal limit. Brown has been charged with DUI.
Man Cited Following Accident at Saucon Valley, Bingen Roads
On Dec. 8 at about 10am police say they responded to a two-vehicle accident at Saucon Valley and Bingen roads. Police said in a press release that the accident occurred when William J. McMullen, of the 100 block of Ackerman Street, Hellertown, who was southbound on Bingen, attempted to make a right onto Saucon Valley Road. "McMullen slid on the wet roadway and struck a utility trailer owned by Mark Walter's Trucking which was being towed eastbound on Saucon Valley Road," according to authorities. Police said McMullen was cited under the state vehicle code for "Driving at Safe Speeds."
Passengers Injured in Bingen Road Accident, Police Say
On Dec. 8 at 6:53pm police say they responded to a car accident on Bingen Road between Old Mill Road and Green Acres Drive. Police said in a press release that driver Timothy M. Andrews, of the 7900 block of Rugby Street, Philadelphia, slid on the wet roadway, lost control of his vehicle, crashed into rocks and then struck a tree head-on. Police said Andrews and two passengers were injured in the accident and were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. All of the vehicle's occupants were taken to St. Luke's University Hospital with "unknown severity of injuries," police said. Andrews will be charged with "Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed," they added.
Man Allegedly Harassed Woman by Texting Her 'Numerous Times'
On the evening of Dec. 8 police say Eric Richard McDonald, of the 700 block of Pawnee Street, Bethlehem, was charged with harassment after he allegedly texted a Lower Saucon Township woman "numerous times." Police said in a press release that McDonald was warned to stop texting the woman on Nov. 15.
Man on Motorcycle Possessed Marijuana, Police Say
On Dec. 9 at 3:39am police say they stopped Shawn Walser, of the 1500 block of Moravia Street, Fountain Hill, at Seidersville Road and Fire Lane for allegedly driving through a red light at Seidersville Road and Route 378. Police said in a press release that Walser was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana at the time of the stop. He will be charged with a Title 35 violation and several traffic violations, police said.
