Man Charged for Allegedly Failing to Register Alarm System
Police say Jose Santiesteban, of the 1800 block of Viola Lane, was recently charged with failure to register an alarm system at his home, which is a violation of a township code. In a press release police said officers have responded to incidents involving the alarm's activation at Santiesteban's home. Police said they also sent him letters warning him to register the alarm, to which he allegedly failed to respond.
Police Respond to Accident at Quarter Mile, Bingen Roads
On Nov. 15 at 4:37pm police say they responded to a multiple vehicle accident at the intersection of Quarter Mile and Bingen roads. Police said in a press release that the accident involved a total of four vehicles and seven people. Several vehicles were northbound on Bingen Road when Niloofar Pakzad, of the 1900 block of Quarter Mile Road, Lower Saucon Township, stopped and waited for oncoming, southbound traffic to pass, in order to turn left from Bingen onto Quarter Mile, police said. At that time Michael J. Weirback, of the 1200 block of Spring Valley Road, Lower Saucon Township, was unable to stop and struck the last vehicle in the line of stopped cars, which police said was operated by Brandon Trate, of the 3400 block of Cobble Creek Court, Lower Saucon Township. The impact "caused a chain reaction type accident in which each vehicle was pushed into the next," police explained. There were no injuries reported as a result of the accident, but Weirback was cited for Unsafe Speed, according to authorities.
Woman Arrested for DUI Following Route 378 Traffic Stop
On Nov. 16 at 1:29am police say they stopped Kathleen Silva, of the 1100 block of Wiley Street, Fountain Hill, at Wyandotte Street (Route 378) and West Eighth Street, after she was allegedly observed speeding on Route 378 in Lower Saucon Township. Police said in a press release that "upon making contact with (Silva), officers determined that she had consumed alcoholic beverages." According to police, Silva failed field sobriety tests and was found to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .09 percent. She has been charged with DUI, they added.
Woman Cited for Alleged Dog Law Violation
On Nov. 23 police say Lora B. Yerger, 30, of 2734 Easton Road, Lower Saucon Township, failed to have secure fencing around her property at the rear of her residence. In a press release police said that as a result, two of Yerger's dogs were able to exit her property and escape onto a neighbor's property. Yerger was cited for a PA Dog Law violation ("Confinement of Dogs"), police said.
Owner Charged After Dog Allegedly Found 'Running Around' on Apple Street
On Nov. 24 at approximately 8:44am police say Brooke K. Dries, 38, of the 2200 block of Marlin Road, failed to have her three-year-old Basset hound/Boxer mix secured on her property. Police said in a press release that an officer discovered the dog "running around on Apple Street," in the 2400 block. Police added that Dries "admitted not to having the dog's license through Northampton County." Police said Dries will be charged with failure to have her dog confined and failure to have the dog licensed.
Man Arrested for DUI on Route 378 South
On Nov. 24 at 2:26am police say Fred Finkbeiner, of the 3700 block of Laurel Lane, Center Valley, was stopped on Route 378 South. Police said in a press release that Finkbeiner was subsequently determined to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .13 percent. He has been charged with DUI, they added.
