DeSales University in Center Valley held its mid-year commencement on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012 in Billera Hall. During the ceremony, Karen Doyle Walton, DeSales' provost and vice president of academic affairs, conferred degrees upon 127 graduating students, including 72 bachelor's and 55 master's degrees.

The following local residents received degrees at the ceremony:

Janice L. Albertson of Hellertown graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's of arts in management and human resource management.

Charleen L. Gonden of Hellertown graduated with a bachelor's of science in nursing.

Jessica A. Hinkle of Hellertown graduated with a bachelor's of science in nursing.

Catherine F. Mantoni of Hellertown graduated with a master's of education in the special education track.

Angela M. Reiman of Hellertown graduated with a master's of education in the academic standards (K-6) track.

Tammy L. Shaw of Hellertown graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's of science in psychology.

Ronald W. Wentz III of Hellertown graduated with a bachelor's of arts in criminal justice.
