Karen Anders' dog, Winston, disappeared Monday from the area of Front and Walnut streets in Hellertown.
UPDATE, 12pm: Owner Karen Anders has reported that her dog has been found and returned to her, thanks to help from the people at the Sure Shine Car Wash on Main Street in Hellertown. Winston, who is now home, was found Monday night and given shelter from the sub-freezing temperatures, Anders said. The car wash is located about two blocks north of the area where Winston went missing Monday afternoon.
A Hellertown woman searching for her missing dog is seeking help from the public.
Karen Anders reported on Facebook Tuesday that her dog, Winston, went missing from the area of Front and West Walnut streets in Hellertown on Monday, Jan. 2.
In a message posted to Hellertown Patch's Facebook page, Anders wrote that Winston disappeared at around 1pm, near the Rite Aid.
"He is very friendly," she said, explaining that he ran off after slipping out of his collar.
Winston has a skin condition that makes him itchy and requires him to take medication daily, Anders said.
She asked that anyone who may have seen her dog contact her via her Facebook page.

Thanks to the people at the Sure Shine Car Wash on Main St, I was able to find my dog. The owner had posted "Found Dog" signs on the telephone poles. She took him to her home overnight, which I am thankful for because it was very cold last night. Thank you for posting this for me. I am very grateful.
