Bethlehem Man Arrested for DUI in 1700 Block of Main Street
On Oct. 28 at 2:38am police say an officer was on routine traffic observation at the Star Pre-Owned Automotive parking lot in the 1700 block of Main Street when "a suspicious Mazda coupe pulled into the lot with a male operator." Police said in a press release that when the operator of the vehicle noticed the officer, he "backed off the lot and onto Main Street and proceeded in a southerly direction." After observing fresh right front body damage to the vehicle, the officer stopped it and identified its driver as Adam David Bitterlich, of the 600 block of Crestline Avenue, Bethlehem. Bitterlich smelled of alcohol, police said, and allegedly failed field sobriety tests. He was subsequently arrested for DUI and has been charged with DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana, police said.
Man Arrested for DUI While Changing Flat Tire
On Nov. 8 at 1:39am police say they were dispatched to the Top Star Exxon station in the 1500 block of Main Street after receiving a report of an intoxicated man changing a flat tire on a vehicle in the gas station parking lot. Police said in a press release that they arrived and identified the man as Christopher Alan Laflamme, 28, of the 1000 block of East Susquehanna Street, Allentown. Police said Laflamme's vehicle was discovered to have "fresh front end damage" and that he was subsequently arrested for DUI. Laflamme's blood alcohol content (BAC) was tested and was determined to be .21 percent, they added.
Police: Man Was DUI When He Was Involved in Accident
On Nov. 10 at 3:02am police say Stephen Joseph Dorff, 57, of the 600 block of Main Street, Hellertown, was involved in a car accident on Penn Street. Police said in a press release that Dorff left the scene of the accident and was found a short time later, under the influence of alcohol. At that time, police say Dorff was arrested for DUI and taken to the Bethlehem DUI Center, where he reportedly refused chemical testing. Police said Dorff has been charged with DUI, required financial responsibility, careless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
Man Fell Asleep Behind Wheel on Main Street, Police Say
On Nov. 18 at approximately 1:37am police say John Hufford III, of the 1600 block of Riegel Street, Hellertown, was northbound in the 1300 block of Main Street when he fell asleep behind the wheel. Police said in a press release that Hufford struck a parked vehicle, and that he was cited for careless driving.
