Flood Watch in Effect Through Saturday

The National Weather Service says one to three inches of rain are possible.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the Lehigh Valley through Saturday afternoon.

Rain and thunderstorms will bring one to three inches of rain to the region Friday, the weather service says.

"The ground remains soggy and wet from the heavy rains that occurred earlier this month, and there is limited absorption capacity from the Interstate 95 corridor through northern New Jersey and eastern Pennnsylvania," the NWS said.

The latest weather forecast shows a chance of rain or thunderstorms for the next five days.

It might be interesting to have area residents monitor retention ponds in their areas. Are they functioning as run off water controls?
