Five Great Places to Propose
Valentine's Day is coming up, and Patch makes it ridiculously easy to find the best place to pop the question.
Do you have a burning question to ask? What's that? All you're missing is the perfect place to do it?
Consider our list and feel free to add your own suggestions to ours!
This gets my vote for the most romantic place in the Lower Macungie Patch. Go when the bluebells (grape hyacinth) are in bloom -- mid-April-ish -- for the best color. There's also a stone shell of a building on the grounds that looks like an open-air chapel. Extremely inspiring.
One of the best features of this Bethlehem park is the pavillion that juts out over the Monocacy Creek. You can watch the ducks and lose yourselves in the sound of the water as it rushes over the falls.
Inspired by history and tradition, this is a place you can start some of your own. With a backdrop of two bridges -- Guth and Wehr's -- there's hardly a prettier place around, and in the summer you can catch some concerts here. Very romantic.
This lovely triangle deep in the heart of beautiful downtown Hellertown has a fountain that adds to the mood. It's also a great place to make a wish. The clock tower can provide confirmation of the exact hour of your proposal -- if you remember to look at it! There is also a music component to the tower. "Moon River" is among its repertoire.
You'll find whatever you're looking for here: water, extremely romantic scenery and historic buildings are all included. The Bushkill Creek is accessible from several spots along the trails. The Boulton Historic Site's homes offer a quaint outdoorsy backdrop, too, as the two of you look to your future.

Even more romantic is going thru the Covered Bridge Park with the horse and carriage. Ironton Livery offers covered bridge rides all year round.

We're always happy to go to Lockridge park for an engagement session! It's very popular but never gets old. As for proposal spots, it's a little outside the LMT patch area but nearby, the WK&S railroad in Kempton. On the train would make a REALLY romantic proposal. We've shot an engagement shoot at the station and around the sleepy little town. http://barnoneweddings.com/blog/2010/10/will-jen-engagement-shoot/

My husband proposed to me at Lockridge Park on the walking path down the back on the bridge back in 1989. Since we are both residents of Alburtis what a perfect surprise. I also had my pre-bridal pictures taken there as well as our wedding party pictures. A park full of memories for me.
