UPDATE: Hellertown Dog Found in Bethlehem
"Polar" is a female Siberian husky with blue eyes.
UPDATE: The search is over! Polar was found Monday night, March 21, in Bethlehem. Polar's owners, the Weirbach family, announced that they wish to thank everyone who assisted in the search for her.
A 50-pound Siberian husky is missing from her Hellertown home, and her owners are seeking assistance in tracking her down.
"Polar" disappeared Tuesday evening, March 15, from her back yard on Northampton Street near Silver Creek.
She has a microchip in her ear and blue eyes.
Anyone who may have seen Polar or who has information about her possible whereabouts is asked to call Kelly at 610-844-3929.

I believe it is an identification device that helps to track the dog's owner. Many veterinarians' offices have scanners capable of 'reading' these microchips to extract the data.
