DJ Gets Pool-Goers Dancing to the Music
A "Dip-N-Dance" party was held at the Hellertown Pool from 5 to 7pm July 14, and young and old bopped till they dropped.
A favorite summertime activity returned to the Hellertown Pool Thursday, when kids and adults had the opportunity to wiggle and twist to fun tunes at a "Dip-N-Dance."
Under the direction of DJ Dan Wade and D.H. Productions Disc Jockey Entertainment, the fast-paced two hour event kept both young and old entertained. Outstanding dancers were rewarded with prizes provided by the event sponsors, who included Texas Roadhouse, Burger King, Domino's Pizza, Rave Motion Pictures, Applebee's, The Roxy Theater, A-Treat Beverage, Lehigh Valley Mall and Lehigh Valley IronPigs Baseball.
Hula Hoop contest winner Jackie S. from Hellertown took home a pair of IronPigs baseball tickets.Â

Gloria Quier, who said she has been coming to the pool for 44 years, recalled paying just $16 for her first family season pass.
"I think this is the nicest pool in the Lehigh Valley. I love it! I love it!" she said as she watched her granddaughter Shelbie participate in the Dip-N-Dance. Shelbie went on to win one of the prizes in the limbo event.

Lisa Peteto said she loves coming to the pool every day with her children Tiffani, Nick and Dominick, and always looks forward to the Dip-N-Dance events. Lisa demonstrated the proper way to perform "The Bernie,"Â as most had no idea how the dance should be performed.Â
Katie Palenchar, who said she has only been coming to the pool for two years, partnered with her son Jackson in the water balloon toss. Katie was also busy taking photos of her son as he participated in the various events.
D.H. Productions has been organizing and promoting Dip-N-Dances in Hellertown since 2006. Unlike at some other area pools, attendance at the borough's Dip-N-Dances has remained strong in spite of the challenging economic times.
The next Hellertown Dip-N-Dance will be held Thursday, Aug. 11, from 1 to 3pm.
In 2010, D.H. Productions also had the honor of helping with the wedding proposal to Hellertown Pool Manager Rayna, which was recorded live on video.
Other communities that will host Dip-N-Dances by D.H. Productions this year include Nazareth, Quakertown, Bethlehem, Center Valley, Fountain Hill, Easton and Emmaus.
