Borough Man Faces Long List of Charges

Police say Richard York III, 19, of 745 Front St., Hellertown, was arrested on charges that include aggravated assault following an incident Oct. 26.

A Hellertown man who was arrested for possession of marijuana in late September now faces a long list of charges, following a domestic incident police say occurred Oct. 26.

In a press release, borough police said Richard York III, 19, of 745 Front St., has been charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault (domestic), disorderly conduct, harassment, underage drinking and criminal mischief.

Police said York was arrested after officers were called to the rear of 730 Main St., Hellertown, where they found a "hysterical female" at about 7:45pm.

Police did not explain why the woman was reportedly hysterical.

York was arraigned before District Judge James Narlesky and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $20,000 straight bail, police said.
